Anchor Liberty Ale

Anchor Brewing Co

This was pretty bad. It was skunky and sour like it went bad in a REAL bad way. I think it sucks. It finished rather poorly. Hell, it started poorly, too. First brewed in 1976 to celebrate the Bicentennial... What a horrible way to show your patriotism. Why don't they just kill a bald eagle while they're at it?

I had this some several years ago and don't remember anything spectacular about it. However, being stuck in Mississippi at my folk's house with very few choices, I re-tried the Liberty. It's OK. Nothing that just grabs you by the stones, but a very drinkable middle of the road ale. This would be a good beer to try on your Big Three-swilling buddies. Or one to have in the back of your fridge to fall back on. I think Steve must have gotten an old batch.
