Ooh, tasty. I'm getting into black beers alot lately. Or at least, I'm trying more of them lately. And this is one that I'd definitely pick again. I'm not one to usually call a beer delicious, but here I am, out on my limb. It's a delicious beer. I wouldn't say it's necessarily as tasty as some other black beers I've had, but it's close, and it's readily available where I am. Bonus points for that.

My hopes were not high for this beer. Most Sam Adams products are mediocre at best, in my book. But it was a new beer for me, so I felt honor-bound to try it, especially since Kris got all emotional about how good it was (just kiddin', fella!). By gob, the old boy's right. This is a very tasty brew, and not NEARLY as heavy as it looks. Almost opaque black, it has some ruby tones held up to the light. Thin tan head. Taste is roasty, malty, surprisingly light. Very pleasant indeed. I will most definitely go get more of this. Now if they could only do something with the rest of their brews...
