WOW. This doesn't even look like a lager. Pours a deep copper color. The aroma is quite hoppy. Only when you take a sip will you catch a hint of lager flavor. This is hopped enough to taste amazingly close to an ale. My wife and I first encountered Steamworks on our honeymoon, when they were just a fledgling brewpub. Since then they've started bottling, but I'm pleased to report they didn't dummy down their product. Nor did they seem to fall for marketing gimmicks over brew quality (cough*Ska Brewing*cough). Unless you just roundly detest lagers, do yourself a favor and take this beer for a test drive.
