I've heard so many wonderful things about this brewery, and I had them on a very high pedestal before ever even having one of their beers, which is why I'm so disappointed in this one, the first Troutbrook beer I ever had. Many of you will look at Sierra Nevada as the benchmark of the American Pale Ale, and if so, this one falls short. The hop bitterness fades a lot quicker, and with it dies the flavor as well. In addition, the aroma is also understated, which is one of the reasons I drink this style. It's good, I guess, but it left me wondering if Troutbrook is just overhyped.
