In Texas, bluebonnets cover the countryside in spring, and celebrate the end of winter. Bock beers are brewed for the same reason: to celebrate the end of winter and the beginning of spring. So cleverly, St. Arnold's incorporated a field of bluebonnets on their bock label. It's a shame they didn't concentrate more on the beer. Oh, it's pleasant enough, I guess, but not particularly memorable. And like so many St. Arnold's brews, it HAS to be poured into a glass, because from the bottle, it has that peculiar chemical flavor. Sigh. Maybe they'll tweak this a little and give us a better version next year. In the meantime, try to just admire the label.
