Sprecher's Triple is missing one thing that most triples have....that sweet alcoholic burn on the finish. Up front, it's nice and malty, with a sugary sweetness. There's a little bit of fruit in there, but it's missing that warmth, that alcohol. Then again, it's only 8.4%, so it's about what most Belgian dubbels have. If Sprecher can add about another point, it could be as good as Westmalle or Chimay.
