Wow, the alcoholic burn was the first, middle and last things I noticed about this beer. It pretty well overpowered all other flavors, which often happens in barleywines for me. This is why I'm not the most partial reviewer of the style, I haven't quite developed the proper taste for them. But, this was a nice warming ale, with that slight bourbon background (or maybe it was just the alcohol). Central Waters is producing some pretty good stuff up in Wisconsin, and from what I can see, of the top-tier Wisconsin breweries, this one is the furthest north.
