The name of this beer might be longer than the review. Well, OK, maybe not, but it is a long name. This is from Sweetwater's "Dank Tank" series (similar to New Glarus' "Unplugged" series of one-offs). It's kind of meant to honor the 1976 Super Bowl, and specifically defensive lineman Mean Joe Greene. The label is very weird. In fact, this could be the strangest label I've ever seen that wasn't on a Lagunitas beer. (Note to Sweetwater....please, give it up, or get better writers). Thankfully, the beer is great. It's an imperial porter brewed with coffee beans. It has a beautiful black color, wonderful roasted coffee aroma, and a warming 8.5% ABV. I don't know how well it sold in Atlanta since I can still buy this months later, but if you're in the area, give it a try. Now, back to the label. It says the following (meant to describe a hit on Roger Staubach by Mean Joe Greene): ...his Imperial Porter bone offense didn't stand a [chance] once we dipped our Nicaraguan bean sack through his facemask." WTF? Are they describing a teabagging?
