A Black IPA. That's what this beer is. There aren't many examples of the style, but it does exist, and it is delicious. New Glarus Brings us a beer that is dark like a porter, which leads you to expect the dominant flavors to be roasted malt, woodiness, like a dark liquid bread, but this also brings a nice pine and citrus flavor from the hops. I couldn't begin to lump this into an ideal season in which to drink it, because the citrus screams summer, but the dark ale features say "drink in winter." Very tasty.
