A typical German Dunkel, I enjoyed the woody, caramel aroma and flavor. The hops are barely present, but that's not why one drinks a Dunkel.The toasted malty flavor is the most dominant characteristic, aside from the beautiful color, which is one of my favorite aspects of Dunkels. I started drinking them in college because, compared to my friends and their love of Beast Light, it looked and felt like I was drinking a Man's Beer. 20 years later, there is no difference. My testosterone levels go up, even when it's not the best tasting one around.
