Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter

Samuel Smith's Brewery

England

Damn, Sam Smith did it to me again. Midnight black beer in a clear bottle (see Oatmeal Stout review above). To be honest, there was nothing special about this beer. It's strong, and more than a bit bitter, as a porter should be. It tastes better if it's not ice cold. It reminded me of Guinness in a very vague, you'd never tell if you were stone drunk sort of way. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's liquid bread, but then I don't think Guinness is either.

I would recommend starting on this style (and this brand, specifically) if you think that is where your beer tastes are heading.
