This is bottle conditioned ale (live yeast added to beer after bottling), and isn't filtered...to the layman, this means you have stuff floating in it. Normally. Not so much in this case, which will be a plus for the people who hate that. This Real Ale is much like a Jaguar....very pleasing to the senses. Copper colored, lightly sweet (not overly hoppy), and very yeasty (my favorite quality). This is probably one of the better English beers I've had to date...not as good as Bass, but it's different enough that you can't compare the two.
