Beck's Oktoberfest

Beck and Co Brauerei

Germany

This was good, but tasted alarmingly like regular Becks. A fest bier is usually a bit hoppier, maltier, thicker, etc. This tasted like a basic lager. A decent beer, but not for its professed style. I find it hard to believe that this has been sitting in kegs underground since it was brewed in March, as most Oktoberfests go. But, in all honesty, mega-brews (German or American) tend to grab onto these novelties as an excuse for more money through seasonal marketing. From experience, with few exceptions, this one was less offensive than its American competition. The extra few cents means big bucks for the company, unless you bought it on sale like I did.
