Paulaner Hefe-Weizen Dunkel

Paulaner-Salvator-Thomasbräu Brewery

Germany

This is a dark (dunkel) hefe-weizen. It is a lot richer and heavier than a regular (helles) hefe-weizen. The yeast isn't as dominating in this beer, but it is a bit maltier. This is a great pork and red meat beer. It's also a beer that will make Bud drinkers look like total pansies if they're standing next to you. Mind you, I believe that's why they drink Bud in the first place, because they are a bit sad. While I prefer the light version, this is, overall, well worth the effort.

I was in a very comfortable pub when I was served this. It's a nice copper/chestnut colour, it almost glows. It has a nice dense head on it and it looks like a special beer. This beer is rich, somewhat heavy, and delicious! There's a nice complexity of flavours here. Not overly heavy. A great cool weather beer.
