Köstritzer Schwarzbier

Köstritzer Schwarzbierbrauerei

Germany

This is a very thick lager. Good, but it caught me off guard, as it strongly resembled a stout, although it was more like a lot of double bocks. Schwarz is German for "Black" (Black beer), and that's an example of truth in advertising. It is indeed black, so if your normal beer staple is brewed by Busch, Miller or Coors, you will not like this beer. However, you can definitely use this as a jumping point if you want to venture into trying porters and stouts.
