Engel Gold

Crailsheimer Engel-Bräu

Germany

This was quite a novelty bottle....it had a screwtop, a feature usually only found on malt liquor 40's and cheap wine. However, don't let that throw you. This is a crisp, clean German lager that, like all other such beers, is thirst quenching and enjoyable, unlike their counterparts from the US.

Quite tasty, I'm surprised to say. I don't usually trust any beer that has a screw-on cap, makes me think "cheap", "American", "swill", "where's all this rap music coming from", and "no thanks, I'll pass." This beer, however, wasn't cheap or swill, it was imported from Germany (thanks to the importers at Reinheit), and I couldn't very well pass on it if I were to write this review. As for the rap music, I drank this in my house, and I'll poke out my eardrums with knitting needles before I willingly allow rap to invade my space. So there you have it.
