Most chocolate stouts use roasted chocolate malts to get that flavor, but in my experience usually end up leaving them with a burnt, Kingsford-like taste. Rogue, on the other hand, actually uses imported chocolate (everybody: ooo-oooh!) in the recipe, and thus has a distinct coffee and chocolate flavor to it, and actually leaves a chocolate residue in the bottom of the glass, kind of like a Starbuck's mocha. Pretty tasty, all in all, by far the best chocolate stout I've had to date.

Whoa. Chocolate. Lots 'o' chocolate. The first sip made me pucker from the sweetness, and the hops made it come off a wee bit harsh. I'm glad I only bought a bomber. Now I can say I've had it and move on to something better.
