This didn't make a great first impression when I took a whiff after opening, but I was very pleasantly relieved at the first sip. It has some definite coffee-like notes, and I would bet there is some chocolate in the recipe. I love it. I don't know how wide their distribution area is, but if you're ever in Colorado, do yourself a favor and find this beer.

Okay, I'm biased. I'll admit that right off. I've made it plain porters are my favorite beers. Plus, it's a beautiful label, with a cutthroat trout busily fighting off a flyfisherman. I'm a sucker for trout fishing. So you know right off, I'm gonna like this beer. Well, get over yourself and buy this beer anyway. You'll love it too. Dark brown-black, smoky and sweet. This is the beer you drink after you've successfully filled your creel with delicious little brookies, and maybe the occasional rainbow. Pick up a sixer.
