Not to many Kölsches are available in the US, because to be a true Kölsch, a beer must be from the city of Köln (aka Cologne), so any in America will only be a Kölsch-style ale. Unfortunately, like many copycats, so many fall short, Americans aren't hooked on this style. Basically, it's a lot like a lager or light ale that most of you are used to, crisp in flavor, fairly smooth, and often with a hint of lemon in the background. Nothing strong on the senses, but an everyday drinking beer. You're certainly not going to be blown off your feet by the hop aroma like a pale ale, but not all beers go for that. If you see Reissdorf and want to try a real Kölsch, then grab it. I'm sure I will again in the future.
